Laverne & Jevonta are married! I had the pleasure of meeting these two earlier this year to capture their engagement portraits at the Palmetto Trail. Click here to see more! It was there that they told me their engagement story that involved a white squirrel (if you have not heard the story, you must ask them!).
The wedding party got ready at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Columbia. There they prepared for the big day. Here are some of these details.
Laverne gave gifts to her bridesmaids and had a very sweet, sentimental gift for her mother (she also gave one to her father – image to come later in this blog). The boys had fun hanging around after they got ready.
Laverne & Jevonta decided to do a first look. What’s a first look? It’s where the bride and groom see each other before the ceremony. This offers a special, private moment between the bride and the groom where they can see each other before walking down the aisle. They get a moment to love on each other, and it eliminates the need to stay separated before the ceremony. It makes logistics a whole lot easier and also allows for portraits to be done before the ceremony. This helps them get to the reception a lot sooner as well! I love Jevonta’s look as he turns around to see his gorgeous bride!
Soon, it was time to load up into several limos to take everyone to the ceremony! They were going to the chapel where they were going to get married!
Afterwards, we headed back to the limos to be taken over to the South Carolina State House where the weather provided us with more time for some gorgeous outdoor portraits!
Laverne and Jevonta are such a great couple! Not only are they a stunning pair, but they are kind and so, very funny. They are constantly making each other laugh while being so sweet together. I love capturing love, and these two were just a dream!
After we finished at the State House, we loaded back into the limos to head back to DoubleTree for the ballroom reception. They had a seated dinner with a “Night Under the Stars” theme. Everything looked amazing!
Laverne and Jevonta shared their first dance as husband and wife under the stars! They were surrounded by their family and friends as they celebrated and danced the night away.
With Laverne and Jevonta both being Clemson graduates, of course they had to break out the Clemson flag and play Tiger Rag! Go Tigers! College football National Champs!
Congratulations, Laverne and Jevonta! May God bless you on your journey as husband and wife. Thank you for your service in our military, Jevonta! I hope that on your travels, you are sure to text Laverne all the squirrels you come across! *especially* the white ones!
