Once upon a time… I had the pleasure of meeting Terrin and Dominic at the beginning of this year after Dominic had found my website online. We met at a Starbucks in downtown Columbia for our initial consultation, and I knew immediately that these two were going to have a fun wedding! Terrin is a dancer and had some awesome ideas for her wedding. Check out their salsa dance at the reception!:
They also wanted to do a first look, and I was thrilled! I think a first look is a great idea as it allows for the bride and groom to have a private moment alone to see each other before the bride walks down the aisle. It makes for a very special moment:
But I’m getting ahead of myself. Before the wedding, Terrin and I headed to the Columbia Convention Center in downtown Columbia, SC to take some stunning bridal portraits:
We had such a great time taking photos inside and outside of the venue. Her mother Pam and her sister Kristin were a huge help! I always love when brides bring their friends and family with them, because it makes the photo shoot go so smoothly.
The big day was finally here! Terrin bought a newspaper on their wedding day to remember the date:
The ladies got ready in one of the conference rooms downstairs while the groomsmen got ready upstairs.
The guys had a good time getting Dominic ready for the first look. We wanted to make sure he didn’t see her before the big reveal, so they had to blindfold him and lead him out of the room.
And while Dominic may have felt silly, it was all worth it to see his reaction when he saw Terrin for the first time.
Once everyone was ready, it was time to walk down the aisle and exchange their vows. Terrin had chosen an indoor room with low lighting that was up-lit with candles and a backdrop that her mother put together! It was so romantic and unique!
After they were officially husband and wife, we had some fun times taking portraits with families, friends, and the bridal party. The most fun, however, was at the reception! Terrin and Dominic set the tone for the night when they came in wearing shades and striking a pose for all to see:
They danced their sweet first dance.
They cut their cake.
They received beautiful toasts.
But make no mistake – they were here to dance the night away!
And so was everyone else! The dance floor was NEVER empty!
I had started this blog with “Once upon a time..” because Terrin had wanted a storybook wedding. Her invitations were on parchment paper and her programs were written like a story book. I feel like her wedding was as perfect as a fairy tale!
Congratulations, Terrin and Dominic! May you both live happily ever after!
Big thanks to all of the wonderful vendors that made this wedding a success! :
